Important Safety Reminder: Recall Due to Improper Buckles on Newton Belts

Recall for Petzl NEWTON belts: Serious safety risk due to incompatibility in FAST LT buckles
Important Safety Reminder Recall Due to Improper Buckles on Newton Belts

In 2022, we would like to issue a safety reminder about the European versions of certain batches of Petzl NEWTON, NEWTON FAST and NEWTON EASYFIT belts. These belts are being recalled due to a mismatch in the FAST LT buckles. This defect can cause the buckles to malfunction and the belt to open, posing a serious risk of a fall.

The affected models are:

  • NEWTON (C073AA01, C073AA02)
  • NEWTON FAST (C073CA01, C073CA02)
  • NEWTON EASYFIT (C073EA00, C073EA01, C073EA02)

If your belt belongs to one of these batches, you must stop using it immediately and separate it for return. Contact Petzl’s after-sales service to send the product back. Petzl will cover all shipping costs associated with the return and replacement.

It is important to verify if your belt is affected by checking the serial number and reference number. For more information and to apply for a return, you can contact them via the relevant contact form on Petzl’s website.

This recall is critical for the safety of all users and immediate action is recommended to prevent any adverse situation.
