Recent independent tests have revealed that the majority of products from unregistered suppliers of personal protective equipment (PPE) fail to pass set safety standards. The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) reported that in tests conducted in 2023-2024, only 10% of 161 products met all safety requirements, with the remaining 90% failing various safety tests. In particular, head protection, eye and face protection equipment and fall protection products showed significant vulnerabilities.
These results once again emphasize the importance of purchasing personal protective equipment only from registered and certified suppliers. While PPE products from registered suppliers pass safety tests successfully, products from unregistered suppliers pose serious risks to users. BSIF recommends choosing approved products from registered suppliers to ensure safety in the workplace. It warns businesses of the potential dangers of using products that do not comply with safety and health standards.
